With a friendly wave from the driver 43004 heads 1L38 Swansea - London Paddington through Undy on the 28th of September 2011, note the copy of the days free METRO paper being put to good use as reinforcement for the sun visor!


43016 is seen at Bathampton on the 23rd of July 2012 with the 1A12 Paignton - London Paddington, this service takes the less direct route to London via Bristol Temple Meads rather than via the more direct Berks and Hants route

Seen passing the quiet location of Cossington on the 18th of October 2011 is 43076 at the head of East Midland Trains 1B28 Nottingham - London St Pancras International, the livery currently being used by this operater is quite eye catching but being predominantly white needs regular cleaning to keep it looking smart


43079 leans around the curve at Undy while leading 1B28 London Paddington - Swansea on the 15th of February 2016, the view here has been changed significantly in the last few months in preparation for the electrification work with major lineside clearance and the replacement of the footbridge that I stood on to take this picture with a awful looking heap of green metal!

HP advertising power car 43148 passes Cholsey on the 4th of June 2013 at the head of 1A05 Bristol Temple Meads - London Paddington, in the background the field of oil seed rape is still nowhere near full flower even though we are now into June


43148 speeds across the point work at Fairwood Junction and takes the Westbury avoiding line on the 5th of September 2012 with the 1A76 Penzance - London Paddington service


43148 leads First Great Westerns 1P56 Hereford - London Paddington through Hinksey on the 3rd of October 2011, the set contains the full 8 coaches including a proper buffet car where for around the same price as your average house you can purchase a rather awful cup of coffee!


With a destination display of Cheltenham Spa in the drivers window 43149 leads 'footex' special 1Z33 Plymouth - Cheltenham through Cam and Dursley on the 29th of October 2011, the service was laid on for Plymouth fans to travel up for the League 2 clash with Cheltenham Town, unfortunately for Plymouth they lost 2-1 with the winner for the hosts coming in injury time


43150 hammers under the doomed bridge at Lower Basildon with 1A15 Bristol Temple Meads - London Paddington on the 22nd of October 2011, the photography friendly bridge is soon to be replaced by something far more hideous with high ugly metal sides that will require the use of a stepladder to see over


43155 leads the diverted 1L74 Swansea - London Paddington through Filton Abbey Wood on the 26th of June 2011, due to engineering work the train took its usual route from South Wales to Bristol Parkway but then reversed for its onward journey via Bath

43180 rushes through Southern Bristol towards Parson Street with 1C09 London Paddington - Paignton on the 19th of October 2011, this service takes the more unusual route of going via Bristol Temple Meads rather than the more conventional route via the Berks and Hants

43301 speeds south through Ashchurch on the 12th of October 2012 at the head of Arriva XC's 1V44 Leeds - Plymouth


43301 leads the truly Cross Country 1V50 Edinburgh Waverley - Plymouth through Catholme on the 28th of October 2011, with a complete journey time of over 8 hours and 40 minutes from origin to destination im sure that more passengers if given the choice would choose a HST rather than a Voyager for such a long journey


With a friendly wave from the driver 43303 heads south at Parson Street on the 17th of October 2012 with a slightly delayed 1V50 Edinburgh - Plymouth


43304 leads 1V48 Leeds - Plymouth on the 27th of November 2011, due to weekend engineering work this service was diverted via Gloucester and Severn Tunnel Junction hence why it can be seen here as it thunders through Pilning


43304 provides proper traction for a Arriva XC service at the head of 1V50 Edinburgh Waverley - Plymouth on the 19th of October 2011, shortly after departing Bristol Temple Meads the service is seen still gathering pace as it heads towards Parson Street on the South side of Bristol


With the shadows lengthening by the minute in the low afternoon light, 43321 manages to find a slice of sun as it passes Pilning with the diverted 1V50 Leeds - Plymouth Arriva Cross Country service on the 27th of November 2011


Much more suitable to a XC service are the reliable and more to the point comfy to travel in HST fleet, seen here passing Eckington on the 30th of April 2013 is 43366 heading 1V44 Leeds - Plymouth


43366 passes through unfamiliar teritory on Sunday the 14th of October 2012 with the diverted 1V50 Leeds - Plymouth Cross Country service, seen here passing Portskewett, shortly it will arrive at Severn Tunnel Junction where it will reverse for its onward journey south


In some glorious low evening light 43366 hammers through Brent Knoll on the 23rd of July 2012 with 1E73 Plymouth - Leeds Arriva XC service


43378 breaks the Voyager dominated Arriva XC service as it passes Gossington on the 17th of November 2011 with the long distance 1V50 Edinburgh - Plymouth, what is a comparatively dull livery based predominantly around grey and dark maroon is still quite eye catching and probably alot easier to keep clean looking than a bright livery
